Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Cut the Webbing

Measure and cut your cotton webbing to your desired length—typically, a 9-inch or 10-inch piece works well for a keychain loop.

2. Prepare the Edges

To prevent fraying, you can fold and press the ends inward or use a zigzag stitch to finish the raw edges neatly.

3. Attach the Hardware

Slide the D-ring or swivel hook onto one end of the webbing. Fold the webbing in half so that the ends align, ensuring the hardware is positioned properly.

4. Secure with Pins

Pin or clip the folded webbing in place to keep it steady while sewing. I am a clip girl!

5. Sew the Loop

Using a straight stitch or a reinforced box stitch, sew across the folded webbing, securing the ends together. Sew a second line or an "X" pattern for extra durability.

6. Press and Finish

Use an iron to press the keychain flat for a polished look. Trim any excess thread for a clean finish.

Customization Ideas

- Add embroidered initials for a personalized touch.

- Try using different thread colors or decorative stitching.

- Sew a fabric strip over the webbing for a unique design.

Now you’ve created your own stylish and sturdy keychain! Whether for yourself or as a handmade gift, this DIY project is simple, fun, and practical.
